Atlantean Weaponry

*note* This is a list of the weapons and armor used by the crew of the ANV Antros. Zyphos can use any and all possible combinations of this weaponry. All of the following weapons are made from Aspen wood and Atlantean iron.

Swords-
Serpenta- A sword with a blade that curves back and forth like a snake. The length of the blade from tip to handle is only 18 inches, but there is much more bladed surface. The sword is also unique because its blade follows the pattern of a few inches of blade followed by an equal length of a non-bladed notched and serrated edge. This edge has the potential to break an opponent’s equipment when used to parry or attack.
Hypheri- A longer double edged sword. The tip of the sword is flat with a long spike protruding out to either side which makes it useless for stabbing but a powerful hacking blade. The blade is measured at 3 feet long.
Narrow- A long thin straight bladed sword. Only the very tip of this sword is actually bladed. The rest is a dull edge. This makes the narrow good for a defensive fighter who favors a thrusting counter attack. The “blade” measures 66 inches.

Axes-
Pict- A double headed axe, that has a large 4 inch spike coming out of the middle of each axe head. It has a short heavy handle, which lends itself not only to parrying, but also to throwing.
Tauros- A double headed axe. While the bottom corner of each axe head points towards the handle, the top corners point away. The effect is reminiscent of a bull’s horns, from which the axe gets its name. This paired with the fact that instead of a blade the axe has jagged teeth like a saw, makes the tauros an intimidating weapon.
Sickle- The same sharp edge that makes this small hand scythe such an effective tool of agriculture also makes it good for fighting. Usually, sickles are wielded in pairs.

Spears-
Kitos- This trident has two smaller side spikes (each with a .1 pierce) and a longer center spike (with a .3 pierce) that under ideal conditions (i.e. all spikes hit) give the weapon a .5 pierce. This, sided with a 1.75 meter shaft, makes it a favorite fighting spear. On the other end of the kitos, there is a heavy metal cap that can also be used for an effective smashing attack.
Grand Kitos- This spear has four smaller points (with a .1 pierce) arranged like the corners of a spear around a large center spike (with a .4 pierce). The potential .8 pierce and a 3.25 meter shaft make this weapon excellent as a first line of defense but very unwieldy.
Minor Kitos- This spear only has to prongs- one small with a .1 pierce and one bigger with a .2 pierce- and a .8 meter long shaft. While this makes it a bad excuse for a fighting spear, it allows for many minor kitos to be carried, and it makes this an excellent throwing spear.

Whips-
Lash Knife- A 20 foot length of chain with studded links that have been tipped with two kunai style blades make up this whip. While the intent is obviously to land a hit with the deadly knives, even a blow from the chain is painful. Its long reach and lightening speed make it just as deadly as any other weapon.
Hydra- Out of the handle of this whip come emerge ten lashes. Then, after about 5 feet, each of these lashes separates into ten smaller lashes. THEN, after those lashes go about 10 feet, they split into ten even smaller lashes. These lashes continue for about 15 feet and then end in a three pronged fishing hook. The design of this whip, while making its attack rather low, give it a damn near unavoidable shot gun effect with ever single attack.

Knives- *note* all human soldier can wield these as last ditch weapons.
Zyphos- The blade that Zyphos was named after, this knife has a one sided blade that is practically a sword. Its thick sturdy blade is a full foot long. In civilian life it is used to butcher animals.

Sax- An easy to conceal curved blade. In civilian life it is used to gut, skin, and fillet fish.
Gurrange- A set of knuckles with greatly curving claws. In civilian life it is used as a gardening tool.
Tactel- This is an easily concealable 14 inch steal spike. In civilian life it is used like a screwdriver, but in times of war it is a throwing knife with a .2 pierce.
Begriever- A savage weapon of the highest order, this weapon is comprised of a handle, a six inch spike coming out of both ends of the handle, and a pair of spiked knuckles as a hand guard. Believe it or not, this was never used in civilian life at all.

Blunt Weapons-
Krackeer- A massive war hammer with both ends of the head covered in spikes and studs. Effectively a giant meat tenderizer, but you are the meat.
Cotablepass- A mace with a hollow head. The head is half filled with a very dense liquid lead solution. This affects the motion dynamics in such a way that the weapons can be swung like a light weight baton, but hit like a sledgehammer. Thus its nickname- the weightless mace.

Bows-
Toxote- A re-curve bow with an arrow slot and two smaller arrow slots- one above the first slot and one bellow-, that allow the bow to be fired in two ways. An arrow can be fitted into the center slot and fired for accuracy, or all three slots can be fitted with small bolts for blanket fire.
Amazon Bow- A large re-curve bow. It has greater power and range than the toxote, at the cost of being less versatile and harder to reload.

Shields-
Hoplon- A massive shield that it 1.5 meters in diameter, that offers unparalleled protection.
Round Shield- A smaller version of a hoplon, it is only .75 meters in diameter.
Buckler- A tiny shield that is only 1 foot in diameter. However, as it is often covered in spines, spikes, and studs, it can be as much an offensive augmentation as a shield.

Armor-
Light Armor- Armor made of leather with Atlantean irons studs in it in the greek style. Also came with a greek style Atlantean iron helmet.
Heavy Armor- Armor in greek style, it is made of solid Atlantean iron. It comes with an Atlantean iron helmet, but made in the roman style. (there is a difference)
