(There are waaaaaaaaay too many to list, so I'll just share what I find that really strikes me. I recommend checking the Final Fantasy Wiki out for FF Transportation, as well as looking into the "Metal Gear" series of Metal Gear Solid. Yes, Lei can build Metal Gears for you. You're welcome.)
(See "Land".)
Sky (and beyond)-
Skybandits- They look like aerodynamic surfboards, from the outside, although they are far more complex, sturdier, faster, and all-around better. As the name inplies, they are flying boards, and they're fast, partially because they take a small fraction of their riders' speeds in addition to their own. While one may expect a board to be snapped somewhat easily, skybandits are generally built so that they are either indestructible, self-repairing, both, or so close to such invincibility that they may as well be. All this sturdiness and the power for some speedy, high flying, yet they're so lightweight. One of the main assets of skybandits is that they can also be used as weapons; because they are made to be sturdy and aerodynamic, they are often used to ram into foes, structures, and whatever else one wants to damage, with the front ends being pointed. Of course, any half-decent skybandit-rider can easily keep attacks steadily flowing without even coming close to even thinking about losing balance. If you're wondering what the downside is and expecting that to be the cost, stop. Skybandits are also very cost-effective. A really great vehicle-weapon is within the limits of your pocketbook, and they have yet other alternative uses, so ask your local expert (Leilani) about skybandits!
(If you have not played/seen a vid of FFXII: Revenant Wings, please go do so. You'll find skybandits to be very effective weapons, in addition to the fact that one can wield other weapons with it, obviously.)
Transforming/Multiple-Method:
(Again, see Land, but I do have something for you.)
Extreme Gears: Available in all sorts of models, usually conforming to the generic look of a board, saucer, or bike, Extreme Gears are some of the best vehicles for getting around reliably, creatively, freely, and, above all, swiftly. Skybandits may use a fraction of the riders' speeds, but Extreme Gear totals ALL your stats and its together with 100% efficiency, so you can simply be a better fighter when riding one of these, although you'll be doing a lot more riding away than fighting, usually, since your speed adds completely to that of these things. Depending on how yours is designed, it can very easily grind, glide, fly, smash through things without losing much (or, more rarely, any) momentum, transform, et cetera, et cetera... So, what's the point in a Skybandit, if Extreme Gears are so good? Well, a skybandit can potentially take you into the stratosphere, while these always hover just above the surface of the land or water over which they preside, when just riding along, though many can jump, glide, and/or fly to some extent. If you ride off an airship or something on a skybandit, you'll be safe, but Extreme Gears will simply fall with you. They're also not nearly so fuel-efficient (especially if outfitted for multiple riders), and they cost much more. Still, if you can manage to save-up for an Extreme Gear, you won't regret it; not by far.
(See Sonic Riders and Sonic Riders 2. See also fan-made Extreme Gears.)
Master Stars: Based on the stars (rides) of Kirby Air Ride, these are special rides that all hover just above the ground/water/clouds (You heard me.), can never (or seemingly so) be damaged, go as long as someone is on them and not pressing them into the ground, have amazing fuel economics, can grant you the same landing from a 3,000-mile fall as a 3-inch fall, have a powerful spin attack, have good stats that are added with your own, and are just exceedingly bad in the ass. They can all grind, most can glide, and those that can't glide are either the Rex Wheelie, the Bulk Star, a similar model, or a flier. Some fliers fly, and the others absolutely soar. There are also special items that can only be obtained while riding a Master Star. There really is no downside to these... other than, of course, the fact that they cost an arm, a leg, an eye, and a kidney. Yes, that's figurative; I mean that they cost a ton of money. Gosh.
