Um . . .

Probably the first Xuten Grigori, I'd think.

Yeah, probably.

This is Xuten, the guild of magical, astrological, and similar studies . . .

"Ah, okay."

Noah felt better and better as they advanced, noticing that the place was coated in so many instruments of study, it was actually difficult for normal people to walk through the place. So many books to read, and so many looked so interesting . . . He didn't say anything else for a while, just taking it in.

"I'm sure the General will love this place" Faith would say to herself.

"Where are we headed" she would say to Xuten Member

((You do realize that you haven't gone anywhere, right? You're still back at the entrance, talking to the deskhand, while the others are advancing...))

General whom . . .? Who says that you're going anywhere . . .?

The three mobile mages witnessed another magician cast a spell to reveal an opening in a wall, which led to a spatial distortion of the guild for said other member, then closed behind her.

That's usually how we get into rooms, here. Elsewise, some members ask deskhands or others to press buttons or cast spells for them.

Yeah, but we also have little pods for one-night stays, too.

The youngsters pointed to some of said pods, which were blue-glassed and otherwise ordinary.

Noah like.

"Oh, that looks to be quite convenient . . . Would you mind granting further explanation for the rooms? Also, are the pods comfortable?"

The desk clerk raised his hooded eyebrows.

Excuse me? We all live by rules, and that includes you. You can't just browse others' guilds and homes at your whims.

The others continued.

Certainly, but Korg and I haven't much tried the pods.

I did once, and yeah, it was pretty cozy, and they're filled with a refreshing mist of some wierd magicite- What was it called again? -that makes it nice and airy.

It's ground vhojixicite, which is dropped slowly into the pods. Vhojixicite produces fresh air toward the direction in which it travels, so the powder has its own air propulsion to keep it from hitting the floor until just before 7 hours are over, providing enough fresh air for about 8 and a half hours. Meanwhile, the floor emits some manner of repulsion field that keeps any such powder from falling onto the person, pushing the powder toward the walls.

Yeah, that's it. The rooms are just pockets of spatial distortion within the guild, which were made by our fourth Grigori.

The interiors are cozy, little studies, replete with space for books and such, and they're soundproof because the spatial distortion keeps all their air within them while allowing them to take air in from the guild and outside. They're also almost completely immune to magic.

Mm-hmm, they're really nice.

"The pods and rooms sound to be quite well-planned . . . Are there other forms of residency, and what are the costs?"

"So what now, must I join your little "guild" to enter this place?" she would sarcastically ask.

Ooh, if only Zerias-G'ol was here . . . You want to take a look around or not? Try some manners...

Ummm . . .

The only other form of residency in the guild is the Grigori Observatory, the Grigori's personal room. We're unsure of the costs . . .

We don't have to pay for ours. xD

"I see, I see . . . Might I ask why . . .?"

The surroundings were consistently surreal; as they advanced, there were only more fascinating tools of study, different designs on the walls (floors? cielings? whatevers) and people, different clearings where some arts were being practiced . . . It was all Noah's dream.

How about you scram, then, bitch?

You'll see!

Zet and Korg just nodded in confirmation to the white mage's statement, continuing on their way up the guild.

"Okay, then . . ."

Noah didn't bother to ask further. He considered what else to ask, and how . . . He took note of the fact that his Terraflow and necrotic energy were accumulating about the same as ever, which made it evident that this place didn't have some sort of magical field to spontaneously block Terraflow and other energies. That was a relief, because any sort of guild war or attempted conquest of the tower would be able to be quashed by Noah's Necromancy and Terramancy, not just his mana-spending magic. That was presuming that he'd be playing an active and pertinent role in such an event. He wasn't sure that he would, but, if he were to, he'd like to have as much versatility as possible. After a while of walking and thinking, he asked,

"Um, do you think that anyone would try to conquer a guild? Have there been past attempts, to your knowledge?"

Faith would turn and walk away she wouldn't waste her time being in a place that she felt wasn't worthy of her being there,
