Archaic Summoning

Sometimes, things go wrong. Some people make characters, then drop off the face of the planet, and others die or otherwise disappear. Whatever the case, we have some characters that are ready to be played (or really close), so we have their character information here. If you already have at least one character (and thereby have proven that you are capable of using your own creativity), ask about taking control of one of these characters. Of course, you'll be given a chance to edit things before they're approved to add your own touches to things, but, if you're going to completely turn the character around, just make a new one.

Archaic Summoning

Post by Beau » Sun Jan 09, 2011 6:39 pm

Beau’s Stats
Health: High
Magic Energy: High
Strength: Low
Magic Power: Low
Magic Defense: Low
Defense: Low
Speed: Slightly Higher Than Average
Mental Stamina: Higher Than Average
Stamina: Low

Beau's mana doesn't regenerate over time the same way that others' do. She has a set amount to spend over a day, and it fully restores at the beginning of a new day. If Beau is in a battle when this would normally occur, her mana takes a break for an additional 30 minutes, then restores.

Summoning
As a summoner, Beau can call on nature, the heroes of her homeland, and great spirits to aid and defend her. Although she usually has to pay a set amount of magical energy and wait a certain amount of time, there are different methods she can employ to summon…
Summoning: Beau’s normal summoning technique.
Calling: Beau can summon the spirit for twice as long without paying ME, but it takes thrice as long to do.
Blood Rite: Beau can instantly summon at twice the power, but she pays twice the normal cost out of her health!

A list of Beau’s summoning.
Lv1
The Powers of Nature: This particular family of summoning are weak, and only one can be invoked at a time (i.e. if the Fimbuwlwinter is used, Thunder of the Earth cannot be) with a single exception. However, they last indefinitely. (ME cost is about .3 of her Lv1 total)

Fimbuwlwinter- Summons a pack of wolves worth 25 wolves. The wolves are playful and loving with Beau, but tear those that are not part of the pack to shreds. They are all fast summons.
Wolf- (1 wolf) Your standard grey wolf.
Dire Wolf- (1.5 wolves) A large particularly nasty wolf, similar to a hyena.
Fimbuwl-wolf- (2 wolves) A small white wolf with freezing breath.
Burning Beo- (3.5 wolves) A huge red wolf with fire breath.
Fenrir’s Brood- (5 wolves) A massive grey wolf that grows more powerful the more members there are in its pack.
Jackal- (.5 wolves) Ok, you caught me. It’s not a wolf, but these small, black, fast, cowardly jackals are still members of the pack.
Gaia’s Forest- Summons a grove of plants (with trees in between them) worth 10 plants. For the most part these are immobile, but she can summon three of them maximum, and it does not prevent Beau from doing another summon.
Pea Shooter- (.3 plants) A large shrub with long tubular flowers. They use these to spit their seeds (comparable to a hazelnut) at intruders.
Harthgarth- (.6 plants) A fungus that spreads throughout the roots of the grove, allowing its hosts a regeneration effect (1/20 of maximum health every 30 seconds) in return for nutrients.
Ivyus- (2.3 plants) A large tangle of active ivy, that will reach out with its tendrils to assault and rob intruders.
Rabbit’s Friend- (2.3 plants) A small berry bush that will use its healing magic on any animal that comes into its small range.
Thorny Helwhumper- (4 plants) A knee-tall two armed cactus that will viciously beat the living crap out of all non-plants that it can reach.
Carnivora- (4.6 plants) A 8 meter tall carnivorous plant. On water, it can move by floating on a lily pad like appendage.
Hammadryad- (8 plants) A 10 meter tall tree woman. As tough as it is tall, it can walk albeit slowly.
Slithering- Summons a bunch of serpents, worth 15 snakes. Ugh… Creepy.
Cobra- (1 snake) A poisonous, but weak snake)
Python- (1 snake) A powerful snake that lacks poison.
Wjat- (3 snakes) A nasty gigantic spitting cobra. It’s venom projectile is actually rather weak, but its toxic bite is awful.
Photosuccus- (3 snakes) An enormous python with a crystal on its head. The crystal allows it to concentrate light into a beastly beam attack that hits at a long range. While size would normally work to a python’s advantage, these are SO big that they are lethargic.
Thunder of the Earth- Summons a gigantic army worth 10 giants. They have enormous strength and defense, so watch out.
Hammer-troll- (.5 giants) These big nasties like to throw hammers, and they throw HARD. Wham slam ouchy!
Cyclops- (1 giant) These huge one eyed creatures attack with clubs and by hurling their victims through the air.
Giant- (2 giants) These enormous hominids (20 m tall) swing hammers to crush foes. They are even tougher than they look.
Johtun- (3 giants) Massive giants that can breath breathe so cold that it may just freeze foes solid.
Firblog- (4 giants) Bigger than usual giants that can throw conjured balls of burning pitch for devastating effect.
Titan- (9 giants) A creature SO big (100 m tall) that its every step may knock back foes. Its health is so great that smaller foes find it easier to simply flee from its inferior speed than stand and fight.

Lv3
Great spirits: these powerful spirits from the spirit world can inflict great damage, but have limited attack options and do not stay around long (only about four posts) (ME cost about .5 of the Lv3 total)

Thor- The great spirit of thunder and ale. He wallops foes with his hammer or blasts them with lightening. By donating alcohol to him, Beau can keep him around longer.
Odin- (not to be confused with Noah’s Odin) The great spirit of wisdom. He can hit a target anywhere with a thrown spear and the aid of his all seeing eye. Otherwise he just dukes it out with his spear and twin ravens.
Athena- The great spirit of Wisdom. She can either temporarily grant all of her allies with seemingly infinite mental stamina, or she can defend one character from ALL (shield-blockable) damage with her impenetrable shield, but she can never do both. (Autohits, attacks with piercing effects, and some magic and other attacks can ignore the shield altogether. It only works for attacks that can normally be blocked.)
Set- The great spirit of betrayal. He can make weak enemies and animals temporarily aid Beau, or he can force enemies to fight amongst each other (depending on mental stamina, of course).

Lv5
Heroes: Beau can call the heroes of her homeland through space and time to fight at her side for ten posts. The heroes’ stats are all equal to Beau’s, except a few that are augmented. (ME cost is about .3 of Lv5 total)

Odysseus- (10x mental stamina) Odysseus was a brilliant tactician as well as warrior, and can identify a monster’s weakness and strike it. He uses a bow.
Achilles- (3x speed and 3x strength) He only fights with a gladius and hoplon shield, but Achilles cannot take damage from anything but a ranged (physical damage) attack.
Ajax- (3x strength 3x defense 3x magic defense) A mighty warrior who swings a bladed club at enemies, and is immune to non-damaging magic altogether.
Atlanta- (5x speed 3x health) A spear wielding female hero who can cast a magic spell that generates chaos among foes. The spell's precise effect is situational, and she can only cast it once per summon.
Arcanos- (10x health) The Atlantean general works more like a great spirit than a hero. He appears and fully restores Beau’s health and then defends her until he either falls or the summon runs out of time. He doesn't target any foes that aren't targeting Beau.

Lv7
Greater Spirits: These work just like the great spirits, only even stronger, and they last 15 posts. (ME cost is about .5 of the Lv7 total)

Son of Osiris- This powerful spirit that can attack with his staff, heal, and shoot bolts of lightning that travel from enemy to enemy exploding until all enemies are hit (yes a chain autohit). In all of these cases, he does x4.5 damage (or healing respectively) to non humans.
Nidhog- The dragon spirit that is usually chewing on the roots of great trees. It is over 18 m long and flies. If it does not tear foes to pieces with its claws and teeth, it will burn them with a fiery breath that can destroy cities.
Prometheus- An enormous titan (2.75 Km tall!) that damages everything within 4 Km of itself on the ground just by walking! He can generate massive boulders, which he hurls to deal great damage. He's too large to otherwise attack.

Other Abilities

Cyclonic Invocation Dance- Originally, this was an Archaic war dance meant to intimidate foes before a battle, the effect is different when Beau does it. The dance entails moving the hips and chest in a circular movement like a tempestuous storm. With her… uhm… assets and feminine wiles, all male hominids on the field cannot help but notice and say, “Damn!” As long as Beau keeps dancing, this distraction means all male hominids have a 2.5x chance of being on the receiving end of a knock back effect or flinch effect.

Fighting Styles- Beau was trained in the fighting forms of the Archaic military.
-Form of Perpetual Motion: Beau spins both staves in rapid circles. This effectively triples her parry and counter speeds, but she cannot launch an offensive maneuver while using this technique.
-Stagnancy Form: Beau locks her arms on both staves and kneels. Although she cannot move in this form, her blocks, counters, and parries are 4x as effective and all her attacks have thrice the knockback they normally have.

Okay, I considered this, and your slightly low stats compensate for your damned strong abilities. The mana fuck helps in this, so you're approved. Don't be suprised if some people want to contest this, though; it is somewhat experimental.

I just realized that chakra isn't in here. Well, fortunately, you overcalculated how much charging time you need, too. For the record, we don't mandate charge times for magic of any kind. I'm thinking this:
Include miniscule to below average chakra or an explanation as to how her chakra network is shot and reduce your charge times accordingly. Pretty much no matter what you pick, you can have your charge times reduced to a second, a couple seconds, or 0 (especially if you have 0 chakra). Still, I'd recommend having at least some chakra in at least a couple of your characters, as you may learn of a jutsu that you'd like that you can't readily learn as a spell. Aside from that, you could learn an ability that would simply allow you to take that chakra and convert it into HE or MA. You could REALLY use the latter, no?

POC: when Beau summons a "pack" the pack tends to stay in a relative group with her as a focal point (with the exception of plants, as is stated).
Also, the thunder of the earth giants are a RACE not monsters. Similarly, the only the wolves and jackals are actual animals or monsters. The other summoned creatures would ONLY appear when Beau summons them, making them in a class all of their own.
I appologize for not stating this before.
