((I would assume that the healing spell was cast during the tentacle sweep, resulting in getting to Tori's foot as she hovered out of the way, just before the tentacles slapped together.))

_Its attacks missed totally. The black bolt traveled a bit past the trees and target, then incurred a small, dark explosion, about a meter in diameter. At the Papermastery, a shriek of pain could be heard bouncing off the waves. The tentacles retracted and hung down in the water, and the monster's head drooped forward a bit. It appeared to be somewhat dazed._

That's it! Winghammer! Hey, shoot at its head!

‾▿‾As she retracted the paper, Tori took over the approaching seagulls, so they magically attained Aviary Armor. Nadia tossed down the Winghammer as requested, and Tori and the Bladebirds flew up to the drooping head. Tori spun 1,080 degrees counter-clockwise with her Bloodroost and wings outstretched as three blades, then moved back a bit to catch the Winghammer and sheath the Bloodroost, then advanced to pound with her Winghammer at downward-diagonal angles, starting with a down-left swing from the right. She pounded in sets of five with Woodpecker as long as she had the opportunity.‾▿‾

[Crevasseus]

Crevasseus sighs in relief as he feels the energy of the monster's attack pass him by. Hearing Tori's command, Crevasseus uses etheredraw again, this time using four supersonic arrows and one explosive arrow. Simultaneously he casts Ethereal support, bringing three missiles into his barrage. he lets them all loose at the same instant.

[NPA]

_Some grunting could be heard with the strikes, and the creature cringed a bit. After being struck by Crevasseus' attacks, the monster flopped backward into the water. It turned its head downward and floated its mouth just above the water's surface, gaping and gasping. It was sucking in air as some kind of recovery measure. The floating ink droplets all moved slowly toward it, and immediately close ink sped up and flew into the mouth to be consumed, all part of its recovery. The tentacles were still draped down, inactive._

Aha! Its mouth is pointed upward, and it's inhaling! You can attack the base of the tentacles to try to chop them off, or you can try to shoot into its mouth and hit the weak point!

‾▿‾Tori wanted to do the latter, but she suspected that she would incur friendly fire from Crevasseus. She thus tossed the Winghammer upward for Nadia to catch, re-equipped her Bloodroost, and circled the enemy clockwise, holding her katana steady to slash at said tentacle bases. Nadia successfully caught the Winghammer while Tori continued her assault.‾▿‾

[Crevasseus]

Crevasseus uses four more of the Ethereal Support missiles to shoot toward the exposed mouth. Hoping to hit the weak point.

[NPA]

_The tentacles twitched in response, then twitched more weakly, then continued to wriggle a bit as they took the heat. Tissues and sinew began to split. The missiles hit the weak point inside the creature, who gasped at the damage, exhaled in an attempt to push Tori away, and continued to inhale. The fighters had plenty of time to keep attacking, and the tentacles were starting to fall apart._

‾▿‾After the chakra missiles hit, Tori took the opportunity before Crevasseus' next attack to fly up and Negative Glide to dive into the mouth and plunge her katana right into the internal weak point. With Woodpecker, she took five quick jabs, then flew out and re-joined her Bladebirds in circularly attacking the tentacle bases. This time, they continued the clockwise assault, but Tori went counter-clockwise. The seagulls approached and eventually, at Tori's request, dive-bombed and pecked at whatever remained of the tentacle attachments.‾▿‾

[Crevasseus]

Crevasseus re-sheaths The Scorpion's Tail and draws the Fellsgot again, using Etheredraw once for one more explosive arrow. He then prepares to use the Fellsgot's electric attack by holding the recess firmly.

[NPA]

_The tentacles could no longer act physically. Before being totally cut off, the bases of the tentacles displayed a dark purple glow, which dissipated after a sudden eruption of dark magic in the formed circle. The attack was almost instantaneous, too fast for even Tori to get out of, but it was actually pretty weak. The creature stopped inhaling, then jiggled a bit as it cast a weak healing spell on itself. The animation was a simple, white lump of magic shooting out of the face, stopping less than a foot out, then going back to be absorbed. In desperation, it spent the latent ink droplets to heal more. They seemed to just disappear, and then the monster had more energy._

‾▿‾After one last chop-cycle, Tori stopped and called out to Crevasseus while throwing her Wingrings onto some seagulls that were polishing up the tentacle connections.‾▿‾

It's panicking and just healing! I'm going in for the kill! If you have something that can support me, use it, but don't do anything that will hurt me inside it!

‾▿‾At that, she again dove into the mouth, targeted the internal weak point, and cut loose with Woodpecker jabs with the Bloodroost four times, then took a simple, L-R slash at it.‾▿‾

[Crevasseus]

Crevasseus, unable to do anything due to fatique and overuse of his magical abilities, lets go of the button, letting the electricity shock the air to his immediate left. He then proceeded to fall on his ass.

[NPA]

_Fortunately for them, the creature was also exhausted, but to a different degree. It passed out. The damage to its heart-liver-secondary ink sac organ was going critical and starting to spurt out the appropriate bodily fluids, so it just keeled over and started to sink._

‾▿‾Tori noticed the lack of immediate help and figured that Crevasseus was either charging something up or just waiting for the end, having no supporting measures. As the mouth began to fill with water, Tori took more Woodpecker jabs at it until it was a scrappy mess. She jumped up and out while performing a counter-clockwise spin attack, then cast Featherbomb on the head and hovered in place. The idea was that killing the monster, rather than just letting it lose consciousness and maybe die deep underwater, could result in it dropping a prize.‾▿‾

((Normally, we describe a combo blow-for-blow, but this is a case in which we can just say how it goes without an exact number of attacks because A) the attack type is still given (all jabs), and B) there's no feasible way for it to be interrupted, anyway.))

Crevasseus heaves and wheezes. He massages his temples. That's going to hurt in the morning, he thought aloud.
