WTF is that thing!?

[Beau]

Tears well up in her eyes.
"My poor little pet! He's probably so scared being all alone! I must call someone to track him down!"
Begins summoning.

[NPA]

"Pet . . .?"

"Wait, you don't mean that dinosaur thing, do you?!"

Why would a little girl- Okay, yeah, it actually made some sense. That'd explain why it was tame and why it had her. They'd heard a lot worse.

[Beau]

"Dinosaur? Oh no, he is a behemoth."

[NPA]

There was an awkward pause for about 15 seconds . . .

"So much better."

"Yeah, uh, it dropped you off in the middle of the Village Broadway, but it receded to the deeper waters calmly, so no one shot at it . . . It's probably waiting underwater just outside the shallows."

[Beau]

In reality, Leru is currently eating dirt.

"Oh! I see! Did he look ok?"

Finishes her summoning, wolves can be heard in the distance.

[NPA]

"Erm . . ."

"Uh, I guess that it looked healthy . . . He's big, and he didn't look all scratched-up . . ."

[Beau]

O_o "He's b-big!? How big?"

A massive pack of fifty jackals roams into the town. They aren't aggressive, but they do seem to be looking for something.

[NPA]

"Well over 20 feet, I'd say."

"This comes as a surprise to you?"

"HEY! Some jackals are wandering the village! They seem to be harmless, though! Everyone is poised to blast them, so you don't need to worry, but we thought that you should know!"

The young man that called in through a cracked door made it evident that these two- or perhaps the other guy . . . or maybe a combination- AHEM! -were/was (a) respected figure(s) of the Shallows Village.

"Sorry that it took so long; I should know better than to read, listen to others, organize some books, adjust some furniture, cast some wards, and cook at the same time . . ."

Xanreorne entered with four purple plates of magic with some piping-hot, steamy, juicy, savory-looking hunks and slices of spotty bulborb meat.

"Like you could ever overcook something, anyway!"

The three villagers chuckled as they began to chow down.

[Beau]

Beau is suddenly angry. "Leave my jackals alone, what did they ever do to you!?"

[NPA]

The young man peered into the window with a o.O face.

"Uh, the little girl, right? Are you in complete control of them; they can't go hostile at any time?"

The others sat and ate calmly, watching the little girl whom was apparently a beastmistress.

[Beau]

"They're only here to try to smell out Leru!"

[NPA]

"I'll take that as a 'yes.'"

The young man turned to announce it to the rest of the village, many of which would promptly echo him to get the word around.

"THEY'RE COOL! THEY'RE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE GIRL!"

The robed guy gestured to Beau to relax and eat up, as everyone else was.

[Beau]

Beau quickly chows down on the steak. Downing even before the burliest villager can.

[NPA]

The others stopped to stare.

"Wow. Hungry, much?"

[Beau]

"Yeah, I feel like I haven't eaten in ages!"
