Setting up a home

[Leilani]

Lei took a moment to look around. Designs in which stairways immediately led to balconies were usually foregone due to the wish to avoid the wind when it gets cold, but, if Bianca liked it that way, who was Lei to complain?

"All looks good to me. Maybe something to block the wind when it's chilly, but it's good."

She thought of the bamboo that make the house up. Maybe something could be done to fireproof the place, perhaps make it sturdier, or something, because bamboo was quite reliable, but far from impervious. She thought of ways to help Bianca get more bang for her proverbial buck . . .

[Bianca]

"Thank you for the suggestion..." Bianca gave a light bow and kept her smile. "You are welcome here whenever you wish Miss Leilani..." On that note, Bianca thought about the woman in front of her. She did not know much about her, so she hoped asking some questions wouldn't hurt, right? "I hope not to intrude...but where do you live Miss Leilani? I never gotten to ask you and if it doesn't bother you to answer, then...."

[Leilani]

Lei nodded in response to the thanks.

"It is a good job. Don't be so hard on yourself."

Bianca could be read like a book, and it didn't take a genius like Lei to do it. She obviously underestimated herself.

"Wherever I want, I guess. My home is a workshop in another dimension, along with my parents, but some strange warp portal appeared before me as I was walking along, and it took me to another dimension. I built a workshop there with some others, but I was then taken here."

Although she has basically been ripped from two homes, one that she'd worked in her whole life with her parents, and the other of which had just been built, she didn't sound down about it. Come to think of it, she didn't sound much of anything, like usual.

[Bianca]

"Do you miss it? Your old universe that is?" Bianca didn't look away from the scene of the ocean. Perhaps she was too shy...or felt she was too direct. "A workshop sounds like a very interesting place to come from..." Bianca then turn to Leilani, her hands clasped behind her back gently. Her eyes were curious and sincere. "If you ever find another portal there...will you take me with you and introduce me to people you know?"

[Leilani]

". . . Yeah, I miss it . . . It's not just the workshop, though; it's the town that it's just outside. The workshop is on a mountain wall that's only about 10 miles away from a town in the desert-mountain. The people there are kind, and it's not just because most of them are customers . . ."

She paused at the second question. She wondered why Bianca was so interested . . . Still, the answer was clear.

"Don't see why not . . ."

[Bianca]

"Thank you Miss Leilani... You're very kind and sweet. You've been here for me since I've landed here and I'm very grateful." At that point the sun was beginning to set along the ocean, the large golden ball sinking into the water. "Dinner is to be set soon. Would you like to stay?" Though it was a question to Leilani, she turned to her with her an enchanting puppy eyed look. Her brown eyes glowed orange from the setting sun.

Lei blushed at the thanks. It was no big deal, she thought . . . So used to a lack of appreciation she was, this demonstration was more than a little appreciated.

"You're welcome . . . I'd appreciate dinner; sure . . ." >//>

She just stood there, thrown off and unsure of what obligations were present.

"You're very kind and sweet, too . . ."

A happy blush came to Bianca's cheeks as she heard the compliment from such a fast friend. "Thank you....Dinner shall be served then." She went downstairs again, where with some meva, she made a small table into a full counter to cook with. Eventually, Bianca figured, a complete kitchen would be done. The counter was green, with a dried, flat reed laying upon it as a make shift board to cut across. "So Miss Leilani...what kind of vegetables or fruits do you like? This beach is very warm so any tropical fruits or dried seaweed would be alright...or we could travel to the meadow where fall or spring fruits can be grown and any kind of nut or legumes.."

Lei followed downstairs.

"I don't think that we'll find much in the meadow, but I like all kinds of plants, so anything's good. I'll cook the fish ((which we will have caught in the previous thread)). Can you grow garlic and carrots?"

She examined the counter for a moment. Drawing a knife from her automail arm, she cut a square hole in the counter. She didn't really ask for permission, but she meant well.

"Build."

Given the classic animation, a kitchen sink was built into the counter. It was made of reinforced, well-carved stainless steel. She would have to build something to get water to the faucet, though, and she presently didn't have the mana to cast Construct for an irrigation and purification system from the nearby sea. Come to think of it, were the black waters safe to drink at all? The villagers must get their water from somewhere . . .

"Wanna' see how to get water here before or after the food?"

[Bianca]

"After would be nice..." Bianca absently responded. Everytime Leilani did a magical ability, it was fascinating to her since it took only one word. When it was done unfolding, Bianca removed herself from her position, shifting her light body toward the door. "I'll be right back then...it should take no more than...5 minutes. Just a matter of getting good ground to work with..". She then left her home heading for flatter land not too far away.

[Leilani]

Lei nodded in affirmation.

"I'll go hunt."

Lei followed Bianca out and started toward the Void Meadow.

"Since I can hunt in the Void Meadow and you need flat ground, why not head there together?"

Lei wasn't sure if she should be obligated to keep Bianca company or give her some space. Was there a right answer? This was a bit of a conflict for others, but for someone so socially inept as Lei, this was more than a bit troubling.

"Your choice."

[Bianca]

At first, Bianca looked shocked at Leilani since she didn't expect her to be so forward. But then gave a soft smile and linked arms with her, her green wavy hair giving a soft bounce "Of course Miss Leilani! ^_^ I'd gladly join you..." She followed Leilani, since she was still new here and didn't know where to go. "I appreciate you escorting me.."

Lei didn't know what to say. She wasn't used to linking arms with anyone above age 7 or so, to begin with, and she didn't know if she should also thank Bianca, welcome Bianca to her service, or what. She simply left the cottage with Bianca and headed northeast.
